Overview of Object Actions
Object actions are able to be placed on sticky notes, containers, image and video files and widgets.
To open up the object actions panel: Click on the asset you would like to assign an object action to. Click on the “More options” three dots icon in the submenu and choose the “Object actions” wand icon.

There are a variety of events that can begin an object action
There are a variety of events that can begin an object action
On press: When a user clicks or “presses” on this object, the object action will be triggered.
For widgets, specific events will be listed under "Object-defined trigger"
Mouse over: When a user’s mouse hovers over this object, the object action will be triggered.
On view: When a user views this object, the object action will be triggered.
View left: When a user can no longer view this object, the object action will be triggered.
Key pressed: When a user presses on a specific keyboard key, determined by the object action settings, the object action will be triggered.
Added to container: When a user adds an object to the selected container, the object action will be triggered.
Removed from container: When a user removes an object from the selected container, the object action will be triggered.
Initial objects added: When an initial object is added to the selected container, the object action will be triggered.
Board initialized: When the board is initialized, the object action will be triggered.
If you are repeating the same action on multiple objects, you can copy the action and paste the action- both can be done from the bottom of the object action settings.

Add Live Content

To use an asset to paste add an object to your container, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Add object to the container."
Pick the desired container location by clicking the “Container” drop down and scroll to or search for your container. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Container” drop down to have the capability to click on any container in the board to select it.
After selecting the container location, select Live Video or Screen Share under the “Object type” dropdown.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to add a reaction to another asset, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Add reaction."
Pick the desired asset to add a reaction to by clicking the “Target” drop down and scroll to or search for your target. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Target” drop down to have the capability to click on any asset in the board to select it.
After selecting the target, select which emoji reaction to add under the “Reaction” dropdown.
Click the “Save” button to close.

Change Color

To trigger the change of color for a sticky note, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Change color."
Pick the desired color to change to by typing in the hex code in the “Color” section or select the palette on the right side to open the selection of default colors or color picker to choose from.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to change object visibility of another asset, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Change object visibility."
Pick the desired object to change the visibility of by clicking the “Target” drop down and scroll to or search for your target. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Target” drop down to have the capability to click on any asset in the board to select it.
After selecting the target, select what visibility (visible, hidden, or toggle to change) to under the “Change type” dropdown.
Then select whose visibility is impacted by selecting Current user or All users in the “Change scope” dropdown.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to clear a container, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Clear container."
Pick the desired container to clear by clicking the “Container” drop down and scroll to or search for your container. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Target” drop down to have the capability to click on any container in the board to select it.
After selecting the container, select whether or not you would like to have a confirmation prompt for the clearing of the container.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to control a video, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Control video."
Pick the desired video to control by clicking the “Target” drop down and scroll to or search for your video. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Target” drop down to have the capability to click on any video in the board to select it.
After selecting the video, select what control (play, pause, seek to or stop) under the “Type” dropdown.
If using the “Seek to” setting, type in what time you would like the video to seek to.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to copy container contents, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Copy container contents."
Pick the desired container to copy from by clicking the “From” drop down and scroll to or search for your container. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Target” drop down to have the capability to click on any container in the board to select it.
You must also determine which board the container is in.
After selecting the container to copy, select which container to send it to with the same drop down process.
Once that is selected, decide whether or not you would like to just “Copy” or copy the contents and add to the new container or “Move” to simply move all contents from the first container to the new container.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to download a file, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Download file."
Pick the desired file to download by clicking to select the file in your Alleo files.
Click the “Save” button to close.
Exit Board

To use an asset to exit the board, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Exit board."
Click the “Save” button to close.
Go To

To use an asset to go to a location, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Go to."
Pick the location to go to by clicking the “Location” drop down and scroll to or search for your target.
After selecting the location, select what way you would like to go to the location (Instant, Pan or Fade) under the “Animation” dropdown.
Click the “Save” button to close.
Go to Object

To use an asset to go to an object, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Go to object."
Click the selection icon to have the capability to click on any object in the board to select it.
After selecting the object, select what way you would like to go to the location (Instant, Pan or Fade) under the “Animation” dropdown.
Then, using the “Zoom” scale, select the scale in which you would like to zoom into the object.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to kick displays, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Kick displays."
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to kick guest users, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Kick guests."
Click the “Save” button to close.
Navigate Displays

To use an asset to navigate displays, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Navigate displays."
Under the “Displays” dropdown, click to select the displays you would like to navigate.
Then select the location to send the displays by using the “Board” dropdown and “Location” dropdown to find your location within the board.
If you are navigating displays to a different board, you may also determine the access level of the display (viewer, contributor, editor or owner) under the “Permission” dropdown.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to navigate users, use the “Navigate users” object action.
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Navigate users."
First select which level of users to navigate under the “By permission” dropdown.
Under the “From” dropdown, click to select what board you would like to navigate the users from.
Then select the location to send the displays by using the “To” dropdown and “Location” dropdown to select the location within the board.
Then determine the access level of the users upon arrival by selecting keep current permission, viewer, contributor, or editor from the “Destination permissions” dropdown.
Click the “Save” button to close.

Open Board
Open Board
To use an asset to open a different board in your existing tab or a new tab, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Open board”.
Click on the “Board” tab and choose the board you would like to open.
Choose if you would like the board to open on your current tab by clicking “Self” or open in a new tab by clicking “New”.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to open a file in an overlay view on your screen, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Open file”.
Click on “File” to open your Alleo files*. Choose your desired file by clicking “Select” underneath it.
Check the box if you would like to hide Alleo UI and leave the box unchecked if you would like the Alleo UI to show.
Click the “Save” button to close.
*If you would like to upload a file from outside of Alleo (ex. from your computer or Google Drive), drag your file onto your board before setting up the object action. This will add it to the Alleo files panel.
Open Link

To use an asset to open a link in your existing tab or a new tab, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Open link”.
Copy your desired link and then click on “Url” and paste it into the space.
Choose if you would like the link to open on your current tab by clicking “Self” or open in a new tab by clicking “New”.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to paste an object onto your board, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Paste objects”.
Copy your desired object (image, video, sticky note, board asset, etc.) then click on the clipboard icon next to “Objects: 0” to paste.
You can choose a container for the object to paste into by clicking “Add to container” and selecting your desired container’s title. You can also choose a container by clicking the selection icon next to “Add to container” and clicking on your desired container.
You may also leave this section blank if you’d like to place the object yourself when the object action is activated.
Click the “Save” button to close.
Play Sound

To use an asset to play a sound from a file, follow these steps:
If necessary, drag your desired sound file* onto your board to add it to the Alleo file panel.
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Play sound”.
Click on the “File” tab and choose the sound file you would like to open upon the event you had chosen.
Click the “Save” button to close.
*Only MP3 audio files are supported on Alleo.
Reset Slide

To use an asset to reset a slide to its original state as a slide template, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Reset slide”.
Pick the desired slide to reset by clicking the “Target” drop down and scroll to or search for your slide title. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Target” drop down to have the capability to click on any slide in the board to select it.
Choose whether or not you would like to have Alleo ask for confirmation before resetting the slide.
Click the “Save” button to close.

To use an asset to change the pen to draw in a specific color, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Set marker color”.
Type in your desired color’s hex code or click on the palette icon at the end of the space to open up the color picker. Once your desired color is chosen, click the “Ok” button.
Click the “Save” button to close.
If the event is “On press” or “Mouse over”, make sure your cursor is activated when pressing or mousing over the button.

Set Transform

To use an asset to resize and move an object on the board, follow these steps:
Choose the destination for the object and place a sticky note there.
Click on the sticky note and access its settings.
Copy the X, Y, and Scale values by clicking the copy icon in the bottom right corner.
Select the asset to which you want to assign the object action.
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Set transform”.
Click on the paste icon next to X, Y, and Scale to apply the copied values.
Specify the target object by either clicking on "Target" and selecting the desired object's title, or using the selection icon next to "Target" to choose the object directly.
If the asset itself is the object being moved and resized, you can leave the "Target" section blank.
Customize the animation (fade, linear, or none), and set a duration using the plus and minus icons.
Select “Return to original location on second click” if you would like this to apply.
Click the "Save" button to close.
Show Notification

To use an asset to broadcast a custom notification, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Show notification”.
Click on “Text” and type in your custom message.
Choose the user(s) you would like the notification to broadcast to.
Select the check boxes next to “Include current user” and/or “Persist notification” if you would like these to apply.
Click the “Save” button to close.

Take Snapshot

To use an asset to take a snapshot of a slide or an image, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Take snapshot”.
Pick the desired object to take a snapshot of. You may also click the selection icon next to the “Object” drop down to have the capability to click on any slide or image in the board to select it.
You may select a container to add the snapshot to.
If no container is selected, when triggered, the snapshot will be copied to your clipboard and added to the Snapshots folder in the Files panel.
Click the “Save” button to close.

You can change the pen mode, size, and color by clicking the pen icon in your tool bar.

You can change the container mode in its object settings.

When the object action is activated, the location will set wherever your current viewport is.

Note that this action will not work if the board is not a public clone board.

To use an asset to start an Alleo call, follow these steps:
Click on the “Tool” tab and scroll to or search for “Start an Alleo call”.
Click the “Save” button to close.

Click on the “Tool” tab and scroll to or search for “Take the lead”.
Click the “Save” button to close.
To stop leading, click “Stop leading” in the top header of the board.

To use an asset to upload a file onto your board, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Upload file”.
Leave “Directory” blank. Click “Add to board” and select the container where you would like your uploaded file to go. You can also choose a container by clicking the selection icon to next to “Add to board” and clicking on your desired container. If you would like the file to only upload into the files and not be placed into a container, leave this section blank.
Click the “Save” button to close.
Vote
Vote
To use an asset to have users vote on that asset, follow these steps:
After choosing your desired event, click on the “Action” tab and scroll to or search for “Vote”.
Select your preferred “Vote type” in the next section. “Unique” gives each user one vote per object and “Unlimited” gives each user unlimited votes.
You may also choose the visibility of the vote count to show for All, Editors, or Owners.
Click the “Save” button to close.
You may clear the vote count by clicking “Clear” next to the object action “Event”.
